Each person is born under a certain Chinese Zodiac sign based on year of birth.
The twelve Chinese zodiac signs form into four trilogies of compatibility, much like Western Astrology.
Based on what zodiac sign you are, there is a cardinal direction associated with it. If you can manage to sleep with your head pointing to that particular direction (laying down, not sitting up), it helps you attract more romantic opportunities. This can work even if you have to sleep on your bed at an angle in order to achieve the proper direction. The angle must be precise.
North spans from 353-7 degrees
East spans from 83-97 degrees
South spans from 173-187 degrees
West spans from 263-277 degrees
This is a 15-degree range, which must be determined with a compass. Just guessing won’t work. As an example, if you live in Santa Monica with your head pointing towards the ocean when you sleep, that direction is southwest, not west. There are many streets which are NOT aligned on a North-South or East-West grid so using a compass is essential. You can obtain a compass at a camping or sporting goods store.
If you were born in the Year of the Dog, Tiger, or Horse
Sleeping head East is your “Romance Pillow Direction”
If you were born in the Year of the Dragon, Rat, or Monkey
Sleeping head West is your “Romance Pillow Direction”
If you were born in the Year of the Pig, Rabbit, or Sheep
Sleeping head to the North is your “Romance Pillow Direction.”
If you were born in the Year of the Snake, Rooster, or OX
Sleeping with your head to the South is your “Romance Pillow Direction.”
Your head is basically the Control Tower for your entire body and being. The top of the head is very receptive to incoming energies all around you and when you sleep at night, the spiritual and psychic center at the top of the head can be plugged into either beneficial or harmful flows of energy.
There are many other factors which contribute to a person’s ability to attract or repel good fortune in their lives; sleeping in the right direction is as important as timing.
I don't mean to sound skeptical, it's just that there's so many different opinions out there about the same thing.
For instance, I've read that sleeping with your head to the north "puts your body and its corresponding chakra system in alignment with the polar magnetism of the earth. Yogi masters, mystics, and psychics have long recommended this position for healthful sleep."
Promoting the health of my central nervous system or more romance opportunities? I don't know what to make of it all and I appreciate your post for making me wonder.
I guess I'll get a compass and test theories. I'll let you know if I'm dating or dying.
Hi Amanda, The post about sleeping in a certain direction to attract love (based on your zodiac sign) is actually a variation of another "Romance Remedy" which involves placing a vase of water (not necessarily with flowers) in a certain area of your house, also based on your Chinese Zodiac sign. These are very interesting remedies, which I have been dispensing to clients for over 15 years. In the big picture, we can say that feng shui is about tapping into the inherent and powerful energies around us, affecting the magnetic field around us and this is a 3,000+ year tradition which has a lot of documentation. Does it work 100% of the time? That I cannot answer, but I would say that most feng shui remedies work most of the time, unless there is something really, really contradictory in a person's own astrology chart. Now, to even bring up the subject of astrology--that is something else that people can be skeptical about. But since they are related subjects, let me just say that if it is NOT in a woman's destiny (often revealed in a personal astrology chart) to ever get married, then all the feng shui remedies in the world will not get her married. The romance remedies might simply make it easier for her to have a boyfriend or some short term relationships. I hope that clarifies things a little. And yes, I've had clients who got into serious relationships using a variety of classical feng shui applications, as well as the specific romance remedies.

Hi again,
Regarding the optimal sleeping direction: yes you are going to hear different theories about that. Over 30 years ago I was introduced to the yogic concept of sleeping head east or west since the earth rotates around in that direction. And recently, I had a macrobiotic nutrition counselor advise that I sleep head to North based on some health issue she wanted me to work on.....you know, everyone has their opinion and personal reference. In feng shui, the information for each inidividual is a lot more specific, based on the person's birth date. One person could sleep in a certain direction that is very restful and for another it will be a direction that can attract misfortune, sickness or arguments. Some people sleep in directions that can help them be creative while the same direction for someone else could be totally draining and make it hard for them to save money. There are even directions a person can position themselves in to make them appear more trust worthy and likeable. (memo to self: send this info out to my favorite political candidate). What I love about traditional, authentic feng shui is that it can be very precise to the inidividual and their unique space. No diluted, dumbed down one-size fits-all rules.
Thanks!

Your responses were thorough and I appreciate that. Astrology and Feng Shui are both so fascinating. I wasn't aware that they could be combined together in order to give a clearer, overall picture of a person's tendencies.
I say, "tendency" and not "destiny" because I believe that people have the ability to change their destinies, if they so choose. So I wonder what could possibly come up in a chart that was irrevocable or indicative of "never getting married."
