In my life, I realize that the more I play every day, the more productive I am. My three rules for living are: smile, have fun, and be wild and crazy. When we are smiling, we can't be sad. It's impossible to have both emotions at the same time. That means if you put a smile on your face, even when you aren't feeling up to it, endorphins will kick in which really help you to be happier. When you decide to have fun with everything you do, your work will become your play. Finally, being wild and crazy helps you take measured risks so that you gain more. Go out on that limb and take a chance. We are all children at play.

When you love what you do your'll never work a day in your life. It doesn't matter how swamped you are with projects, work is play when you enjoy it. If you are stuck in a job you hate, get out. Make a list of everything you love doing, then find a way to make this your playground. We can all live on less when we are thrilled with the moments in our life. In my coaching sessions, I never give homework. I assign homeplay. By reframing their word usage, my clients focus on enjoying the process. Say to your family, "I'm going to play today!" and see what transpires. Work and play are the same as long as you enjoy what you are being and doing. Work less, play more! Have fun!

That's an interesting point you bring up Cynthia. Words play such a powerful role in our lives everyday. In fact, it's such a subtle force that it often goes unrecognized.

One of my very good friends (the big brother I never had) is a highly successful fashion photographer in NYC. His favorite word is, "amazing." He uses that word so much it borders on ridiculous, but it still brings a smile to your face because he's smiling as he's saying it as though it's for the very first time, which it isn't!

He says that word so much so that I have a feeling that he created this "amazing," rock-star life that he leads with his multitude of adoring fans simply because he drilled that word into his subconscious as a given in his life.

He's got this great, vital energy too, this twinkle in his eyes, an eternal kid for life and it paid off big for him.

Last time he was in town he had an art show in Beverly Hills where he had turned his photographs of super-models into paintings/collage....there were over 25 different pieces going for like 35k a pop.

Guess what? He sold them all!!! And to think, he had the time of his life playing and splashing paint on canvas like a little kid.

Raphael is an inspiration to many, he's truly amazing to behold!

We should think of more incredible words to replace the regular, same old, vocabulary that we hear every day.

any ideas? I'll start with...SPECTACULAR!

I promise to try it out for a week straight, I'll say in everywhere for everything (except at funerals or something grossly morose,) I'll say it randomly, I might look strange, but who cares, the look on peoples' faces will be worth it.

I'll have to really mean it though. I'll keep you posted.

Your big brother has it right! We "train" the world on how we want to be perceived. I love the word AMAZING because life truly is. Because I am the STAR LADY, my favorite word is STELLAR.
So have a starstyle day, keep being spectacular, amazing, and stellar. And keep on playing! It's our right!
Starsmiles,
Cynthia Brian
