Once you have your dream job, if it involves working from home with lots of flexibility as mine does, I have some advice. Here are two "must haves" for your home office, especially for women:
1) a cat
2) a pashmina
First, a cat is a constant companion and keeps you from feeling too isolated. Cats are a reminder to slow down. Instead of getting too wrapped up in your work, take a stretch break when your cat does, stop to pet the cat every now and then, and give yourself some self-care in the process.
Second, a pashmina is an essential, especially in colder climates. My best friend gave me a beautiful pashmina for Christmas. I love my pashmina! Each day just before I go into my office, it has become a habit to wrap it luxuriously around me. Even if I'm wearing Tai Chi clothes to coach, it gives me a sense of getting dressed up for work and gets me in the mindset of working!

Whenever I am working too diligently or taking things a bit too seriously, it seems like my big, orange kitty knows. He will get that look in his eyes and jump into my lap. After he settles, he then stretches into ridiculous positions and cracks me up. There is just no being serious after that! Quite a nice break!
When my cat plops herself right on my keyboard as I'm furiously typing away or when she sits on top of the papers that I'm reading as though she has the right to be exactly on that spot...I freak out at first, then laugh at how needy she is, and of how unnecessary my reaction was. Cats can be the best reminders to chill-the-fu$&-out!
That sounds so nice and cozy, after readying it, I was seriously dazing off thinking about getting a cat.. until I remembered, I am allergic to some... hmm.. I"m wondering if there is a healthy alternative. Or better yet for those cat people, is there a way to determine which cats I may be allergic to?
hmm.. I guess a dog doesn't really lounge as well.

I remember hearing about some cats created without allergens. They're pretty pricey. I think it's kinda strange in a creepy sci-fi experimental way. Anyway, short haired cats are supposed to have less allergens than long-haired cats. It was pure luck that I found a cat that caused no allergic reactions since I am allergic to some cats. So it is possible to find one without paying thousands of dollars for the allergen-free creation.
