I had the privilege of attending Tony Robbins, Unleash the Power Within Workshop, – and what an amazing experience it was! I’m not sure why, but I haven’t followed Tony Robbins and his work all that much – so needless to say – I was pleasantly surprised by what I experienced. The overwhelming presence he has with the audience is truly uncanny – and his ability to influence, teach and inform in non-traditional ways – is not only profound but also entertaining.
I discovered many major AHAs throughout the event, but one in particular struck me. Tony interaction with another participant showed me that I’ve been operating contrary to my own natural energy - which is feminine. I didn’t realize that my analyzing, picking things apart, and trying to figure everything out – in every situation – was an operation of my masculine energy. And if shifted this in certain situations (just as my personal relationships), and embraced my natural core of feminine energy - which is pure, boundless, free flowing, and infinite - I would be much more at peace and true to who I am.
Now of course, my masculine energy has its benefits in so many areas of my life –especially my analytical side with my work. However, when it comes to my relationships, I’ve realized operating from my core – or who I truly am – which is feminine energy - is my best bet.
So my challenge now is – to break the pattern of “having to know” and “having to figure everything out” – especially when it comes to my personal life. When I find my head racing and needing to know the outcome of a situation – and being uncomfortable with uncertainty, my question to myself is: “How can I break the pattern?” And for me, I’m learning it’s getting active – going for a run, a drive, putting on music and dancing around, or simply calling a very good friend and chatting about absolutely nothing. No analyzing, no having to know, or figure things out - just being in the moment – without knowing the outcome.
Now for a Type-A’er like myself, not knowing and not having what I consider was control over outcomes, (which we all know is an illusion) is very nerve wracking for me , but it’s a pattern I’m excited to break. I joked with my coach that I’m going to be very in shape if I decide to go for a run every time I want to break the pattern J - but it’s all good – and it’s fabulous for me to flex and build my feminine core muscles.
What energy are you operating at in your life? Are you operating from your natural core place of feminine or masculine in certain aspects of your life – but not others? It’s interesting to explore this – and embrace more of who you truly are.
Good luck and I’ll keep you posted on my progress!
PS: Here is an article I found on the web that describes the relationship between masculine & feminine – interesting read: http://www.mindreality.com/relationship-between-masculine-and-feminine
The feminine is pure, boundless and infinite energy moving freely without any particular direction. It is directionless but immense, ever changing, beautiful and destructive. The feminine is the force of life and source of inspiration. The feminine moves in all directions, the masculine moves in one direction. The feminine needs the masculine to give it direction, focus and purpose. The masculine needs the energy of the feminine to give it drive and passion. The masculine and the feminine need each other. The masculine directs while the feminine projects. This is the relationship of yin and yang.
