I want to do this in order to gain and maintain a healthy weight, to set a healthy example for my children, and to reduce/eliminate the medications I am on for high blood pressure and other medical conditions.
I need constant reminding, cajoling, and encouragement. I also need some advice and/or help knowing what is "healthy".
Aren't there a couple different food pyramids out there depending on the type of diet you're on?
How's that going Morah? I hope you're on track...reach out to me if you ever feel weak and I'll firmly but lovingly tell you to put down the burger! ;)
I am trying to make a "life change" not diet. Right now I am basically making sure I get the recommended dose of veggies and the like, cutting down on the emense amount of carbs I didn't even realize I was eating, and following serving sizes. I started a food diary a couple of weeks ago, thinking I was doing okay and was shocked at how horrible I really was eating. So, here we go, and so far I am eating less than "allowed" and am felling good, not hungry or anything. I even had cake tonight.
Thanks!
Morah

Glad to see you've chosen to make a life change versus dieting. In doing that remember it's a process to make that change versus an event. Incorporating new changes every week can really pay off. Things like increasing one more glass of water per day, changing over to whole grains only, etc. You're doing great one week out and it looks like you're on the road to success!!! Keep it up and keep posting!
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in
broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming,
"WOW! What a ride!"
Hi Morah,
Is it true that you need constant reminding, cajoling and encouragement? If so, who will you get it from? How can you set yourself up to be successful here?
What advice and help do you need to know what's healthy? Where might you get this? Don't forget that you have an extensive team of experts and coaches here just waiting for you to ask...
keep bringing soul into it,
sharon
