Only four years ago, the devastating Cedars Fire raged through San Diego. In October 2007, once again fires ravaged Southern California, this time destroying 2000 homes and displacing almost one million people. For the past few weeks, charities have been rushing to offer food, shelter, and sanitation. Now, Be the Star You Are!, an all volunteer 501 c3 charity dedicated to empowering women, families, and youth through improved literacy and positive media wants to make sure that every child who was affected by the fire gets a gift of a brand new book this holiday season.

During the tragedies of 9/11, and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Be the Star You Are! charity volunteers mobilized to get resources totaling almost $100,000 immediately to those in need. Now Southern California has been hit with the worst fire in California history, and the goal is to send $25,000 worth of new books to the children.

For a donation of $99 to Be the Star You Are!, volunteers will ship a case of brand new beautifully illustrated books valued at $550.00 or more to the charity or group of your choice. The charity has a list of organizations that are requesting materials if you do not have any particular charity you wish to support.

All contributions are 100% tax deductible by law. Donors will receive a tax receipt and the beneficiary will receive a card included in the case of books with the name and address of the donor.
