I must do this because I will feel healthier, I'll look better and I will be able to move more freely. During the past few months, I've been working hard and working late, which means less time in the gym and less running. Now it's time to rebalance my program. If not, it will just be harder to get back in shape later.

I am interested in hearing from other members who want to lose weight. If you want to join me on this quest to lose 5 pounds before New Year's Day, then please leave a comment below. Together, we will certainly achieve this very reasonable goal.

HI Rob, 5 lbs, that's a cinch! I have no idea what you are eating so I really ought to start with that. So here are some general suggestions that will have you feeling lighter, more focused and freer in no time.
1st. See how much sugar you might be consuming. That includes alcohol or ketchup. Cut down on the cane sugar even just 1/2 or 1/3 will make a difference.
2nd. Notice where you are consuming refined grain products where you could have whole grain instead. Are you having dry cereal in the morning where you could have creamy quinoa with apples and cinnamon?
and 3rd. Really start consuming more vegetables. Filling up on interesting different vegetable dishes leaves less room for other foods that keep the weight on.
And your bonus tip: IF you normally like to snack on nuts or chips, try roasted pumpkin seeds instead. They are low in fat and high in zinc which is great for your immune system and your libido.
Happy slimming to you!

Hi Rob,
Welcome and good for you for being ready to commit to action. What I'm hearing is that what you really want is to feel healthier, stronger and more flexible. You've identified losing 5 pounds as the way to that feeling by next year. What if you didn't put it off? What can you do today that will make you feel healthier, stronger and more flexible immediately? If you do this everyday, your body can't help but find it's healthiest, strongest, most flexible weight.

Please keep us posted on your progress,
sharon

Hey Rob:
Great super goal! Here are a few tips:
1. Drink lots of water and herbal teas.
2. Get out into nature and walk everyday.
3. Create a regular active play date with your family and friends.
4. Vacuum your house and mow your own lawn (yes, house cleaning and gardening are excellent exercise!)
5. And with the pumpkin seed advice from Susan, your healthy sex life will keep the weight in check too! (Thus a bonus for your wife!)

Enjoy every moment!
Starsmiles,
Cynthia
