I want to do this because I have a tendency to worry about what comes next and then miss what's right in front of me. Jumping ahead emotionally has often lead to finding myself in relationships before I was ready or before I had enough information to actually know if the person was "relationship" worthy or just someone to date for a period of time.
My main motivation is to give things enough time to evolve and to remain aware of what I'm feeling, seeing and hearing from someone during the critical early evaluation time of meeting a new person.
I'll stop worrying about what people think and what it could mean and just enjoy the moments I have along the way.
Hi Patty. Fantastic goal! I think it's the solution not only to dating but to everything in life! So much regret comes from the past, and anxiety over thinking about the future. When we're truly in the moment, that's the only time we're really in reality. Have you read the Power of Now?
Fight the impulse to doodle your first name with his last name no matter how good your new name sounds. Endless daydreams and doodles that are premature spell D-O-O-M.

Hi Patty,
Great awareness that when you are not in the present you are missing out on what's in front of you!! Kudos to you!!
Oh, and here is some additional food for thought; fear lives in the past and in the future, but not in the present which is pretty cool.
I also love your envisioned success. Boy, it is sometimes so hard to not worry about what others think. I once had a teacher say to me, "It's none of your business what others think of you." Wow! Did that shifts things. However, it is your business what you think of you!
Keep up the awesome work and awareness and do continue to reach out. :)
