There is something immeasurably important about having your home base. Your special place, configured just like you like it. A place where you can take comfort and refuge from all that is buzzing around you.

I bought my first property in 2001, got bit by the bug, and have invested in residential real estate since. In 2006, I relocated to Colorado and spent a year and a half deciding where I wanted to live and establishing myself. I decided to buy downtown Denver because I’ve always wanted to live downtown, yet consistently found a reason not to. In short, I found a fantastic spot and love my new digs!

But the point of this story, is to convey HOW MUCH I missed having MY HOUSE, and how amazing it feels to create my new space…again. It’s the little things right…nuances…particulars…customizations…quirks…twists and tastes. I’ve been happily overwhelmed by the sheer number of choices available for furnishings. Moreover, I’m glad I didn’t take anything with me from the old house. It’s like shedding skin. I didn’t want to wear that skin anymore. The furnishings would have looked and felt weird in my new house.

It’s about reinventing me as much as it is about finding and inventing my new space. I enjoy trying on a new space, new style and energy in the house. I see it as an extension of me and part of the statement I’m making right now.

I feel happy everyday when I wake. I'm comforted right when I walk in. I’m excited and breathe differently than any other place I might stay. This is my home and I love it. :)
