I've been too damn quiet. I mean, come on, I'm the CEO of PeopleJam and how many times have I blogged? 3? 4? How the heck am I supposed to expect YOU to contribute to our site if I'm not even contributing?
Maybe I've been overly concerned about what you might expect from me, or maybe I've just allowed myself a convenient excuse, thinking that you'll understand if I'm not especially active since you might assume I've got so many more important items on my plate relating to the success of PeopleJam.
The truth is that's just a load of C R A P! The real reason I've been quiet is the same reason anyone is quiet when given an opportunity to speak - I haven't known exactly what to say...
That's no longer ok. Its no longer ok for me to refrain from talking to you or talking about what's on my mind just because I may not know what I'm going to say before I say it. What if I never know exactly what I want to say? Does that mean I'll never say anything? That would be like living for a tomorrow that never comes, and that's just not me.
I've been a fan of the idea of carpe diem since the moment I walked out of "Dead Poet's Society". Not an easy way to live - or think - but a powerful concept. Within that concept, there's very little room for living for tomorrow, which means there's very little room for waiting to express what's on your mind.
So this is the first of what will be many more missives from me, often about nothing more than my stream of consciousness. Because what, really, is personal growth, other than expressing and making sense of your own stream of consciousness such that you can hand pick and act on the ideas, thoughts and inspirations that are otherwise stuck there.
Why am I fired up? I'm fired up because this is a beginning, and every beginning is another beginning's end ($1 and a day of promotion on our home page for the first person who knows where that came from).
Thanks for being here at PeopleJam. We're going to make you proud you decided to be the first of your friends to spend time here. Your friends are going to be jealous that you found us first. More on why in the next missive...
