Don't - Focus on work first and then try to make your life fit it.
Do - Figure out what you want your life to be like first. Be specific and create a vision that includes: the characteristics of your ideal life, how you want to spend your time on a daily through monthly basis, relationships, wellness, etc.. Pay special attention to those things you will not compromise (i.e. time with kids, flexibility for family, etc...).

Then and only then can you make sure your work will fit your life.

No job can be ideal if it doesn't further you and your life as a whole system.

So, do your homework to give yourself the chance of the ideal job coming into your life!

Your liabilities in one job-position could be your assets in another.

Seek what excites you so that you have the energy and the daring to change your circumstances.

In doing so, your liabilities become your strongest assets.

Honoring the truth of your being with some calculated strategies is all it takes.

Anyone have a story that supports this idea? Hey, if it discredits it, I'm open to that too.

I completely agree! When we find a new job, often we determine our non-negotiables based on salary, location, even title. We often forget about setting boundaries that protect the lives we are creating. Knowing what you will not compromise will help you to establish clear lines. Great tip!
