I recently posted my goal for purchasing new cosmetics. I was dreading the trip to Bloomingdale's, with it's disorienting array of counter after counter after shelf after shelf of tubes, bottles, compacts, and "color palettes" (aka EYE SHADOW). I completed my goal and not only was it painless, I actually had fun.
My new roommate accompanied me. He just happens to be a professional make-up artist and took what would ordinarily be an unpleasant task and helped me turn it into a fun and playful excursion. I obediently followed him from counter to counter as he chose products and colors he knew would work best on me.
He applied the tester products right there at the store (didn't know I was going to get a free makeover, too- bonus!). We were having so much fun that the Bloomingdale's cosmetic sales people came over to watch and talk with us.
In one of Libby Gill's videos, she talks about "finding a guide" as a sort of spiritual mentor. Spiritual guide / professional stylist- same difference!
Make-up shopping will never be a first choice fun activity, however, I learned that you can make an activity fun if you invite a companion who is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about it. Then again, I already knew this, but we all need a reminder about thing we already know every now and again.

Hey Tara!
Kudos to you for completing your goal. You set a great example for all of us- set a goal, take action, and have someone to support and hold you accountable.
Whatcha gonna do to celebrate?
