Every sports fan has been there…we follow all year and in the end – our favorite team stinks. They bite it so bad that you have a backup team you act like you’ve been following all along. Sure, they were champs at one time but they have made you ashamed for the past several years. What do you do? Don’t cry pumpkin, there are many ways to heal your broken heart!
Diverisfy! Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket! When your NFL team misses the playoffs, keep track of the Winter X Games or the NHL season! Fall in love with more than one activity and you’ll occupy your time much better!
Deal with it! Take it like a big boy/girl and realize that everyone has their peaks and valleys – even the pros!
Cry like a 5 year old! Just get it all out and cry like the big baby you feel like inside. Make it a real party and drink a few adult beverages while you are at it.
Play some golf! You’ll forget about the fact that the New England Patriots lost the Super Bowl when you shoot a 120. Again.
Realize that no one is perfect! OK, I have had to live with the Los Angeles Lakers stinking up the place with prima donna baloney for the last few years. What holds me over? They have won quite a few championships in my lifetime. Games are still fun to go to! Oh, and the Los Angeles Dodgers? Forget about it – in spite of the fact that owner Frank McCourt has finally opened up the wallet might not even make a difference. Yeah – Joe Torre – great – but we need more than that to win!
Remember why you fell in love with sports in the first place! And just think of how boring it would be if the same team won every year! If all else fails, watch soccer – talk about passionate fans – you have no choice but to get excited!

I don't follow sports much but I have a very close friend who follows many sports religiously. I slightly exaggerate but it's my duty to hold him when he cries like a baby when he didn't make the perfect trade for his fantasy baseball team.
So nice of you to be there for your friend! Fantasy sports can certainly induce despair!
