How to Recommit to Fitness Goals

This is actually quite simple – get off of your butt and do it! Stop making excuses about how busy you are and the kids and the job and blah, blah, blah. What is more important, taking the time to go to the doctor because you neglected taking care of yourself or setting aside what amounts to a few hours a week?

Things like a heart attack can be very inconvenient and take
up quite a bit of your time. You’ll be forced to slow down then toughy! If you need help on setting your goals in the first place, check out this link from MedicineNet and this one from the Mayo Clinic.

Yes, we all get lazy and have lives. The only way to stay committed to be fit is to actively make it a part of your life. If “kids slowing you down” is your excuse – involve them by pushing them along on a walk or getting them a seat on your bike. If you think you don’t have time, turn off the television for one hour and engage in exercise for at least 45 minutes. This can be as simple as walking in your own neighborhood. Can’t stay fit since you can’t pay for an expensive gym membership? Again, walk in your neighborhood or local park, do exercise that doesn’t require anything but yourself (push-ups, lunges, crunches), and use household objects as weights. Whatever is stopping
you, realize that you are only hurting yourself. Please keep your complaining to yourself as well since those of us who stay on track don’t want to hear you cry.

How to you stay focused on fitness?
