By going for it! How
else? Stop worrying about what someone
else thinks. Who cares if it is bad for
you? Go for it! Let loose and eat fried foods with heaping
tablespoons of salt and wash it down with a double vodka and 40 oz. beer! Throw caution to the wind and unwind.
Seriously though, even the strictest dieters and fitness
nuts I know have at least one cheat day. The duration changes – once a week, every two weeks, or once a
month. These are also those that I find
to be in the best shape and that easily stick to their lifestyles when they
aren’t indulging.
My indulging goes in spurts. I won’t have anything bad for me for months, sometimes a year or
more. Then it will hit me – I have been
no fun for a long time. Boom! Indulgence is born! I’ll allow myself to have a double margarita
and a few Corona Light beers. You know
what? It feels great to relax and say to
heck with caution. Of course, I have a
wonderful spouse who doesn’t drink that drives for me and doesn’t mind if I
partake in a few adult beverages.
So let loose! If you
eat a massive dessert once a week, drink a six-pack of beer every Sunday, or
sprinkle salt all over your French fries once a week – who cares!? As long as you understand moderation then you
have nothing to worry about!
As for bad habits like gambling, biting your nails, or
passing gas in public – I say let loose if you aren’t hurting anyone else! Please just don’t fart near me where I have
to deal with it and we’ll remain friends!
