Playoffs!? Your team didn’t make the NFL playoffs? Don’t cry about it sport, there are plenty of great teams to watch for your football fix! With some exceptional storylines and records at stake, how can you not observe? How do you choose who to root for? The no-brainer is to root for your division, conference, or nearby location. If you want to be more (or less) creative, I have some suggestions that will be especially helpful for those of you that are NFL-challenged:
1. Jump on the New England Patriots bandwagon: It doesn’t take much nerve to wear a Tom Brady jersey since he was the year’s NFL MVP, is dating a supermodel, and is wildly popular. You’ll fit right in almost anywhere!
2. Root for the “old” guy: Be a Green Bay Packers fan! As this is Brett Favre’s 17th season in the NFL, a Super Bowl berth and victory could make it his last.
3. Go for the wild card: The Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Pittsburg Steelers at home - twice. With players like David Garrard and Maurice Jones-Drew, they have shown us that they won’t go down without a fight.
4. Go for a real underdog: Why not root for the San Diego Chargers? They have the dubious distinction of making it to the Super Bowl back in the 1994 season and losing by more than three touchdowns.
Good luck and happy viewing!
