Spring is in the air and Opening Day is fast approaching! Yeah, its baseball season! Major League Baseball treats fans to six months of regular-season action. During this time, there are twists and turns that keep followers captivated. What are the most effective ways to catch the fever?

If you don’t already follow a team – pick one! The league has changed a bit over the years and while there are a few dominant clubs, many others around the country offer just as much excitement.

Know the game. If you are a new follower, learn some of the rules online or read an informative book. You can also enlist the help of a fanatical friend to get you up to speed.

Read up! Go to sports news sources like EPSN, CNNSI, and MLB.com to get the latest news on what’s going on. Each team has a website and numerous fan blogs as well.

If you don’t already, learn to love SportsCenter. ESPN’s signature show always has news and highlights that repeat in case you missed ‘em the first time.

Get to a game early in the season! This is the time where every team still has a chance. No one is written off in April! If you can’t get to a game, hit the local sports bar for fun viewing with friends.
