Dear PeopleJam,
The holidays can be stressful for numerous reasons- financial, familial, dietary (parties, cookies, alcohol) and travel. For those who spend the holidays alone, it can be an especially bleak time.
I'm looking for material that addresses these matters. Sure, the traditional "count your blessings" stuff is fine, but I'd much rather see novel approaches that combine thoughtfulness, humor and novelty. What are some of your most creative techniques to keep your chin up in this season of happiness and goodwill? Any true alternative holiday stories like Festivus? Does your family celebrate Christmas in July to avoid the crass consumerism this time of year? Do you have an O. Henry-esque tale?
Let me know what you post and it just may land on the homepage.
Stay sane!
Kind Regards,
TJP
Hi Tara:
I just posted a blog about how to have a healthy holiday by going green. This is a bit different than your request, but filled with ideas.
Happy holidays to you and yours,
Warmly,
cynthia brian
