Dear PeopleJam Community,
To those of you who have been contributing material related to the weekly editorial theme: Many thanks. I'm positively delighted each time I see one of these posts. As an incentive to keep writing, I'd like to offer a preview to those who are becoming regular contributors to PeopleJam's weekly efforts.
If you've posted more than one themed entry in the last 3 weeks (I already know who some of you are), please send a private note and I'll email a sneak peek of the upcoming theme a week before it's posted to the rest of the community. This means you have an entire week's head start to begin writing. Before anyone emails to tell me this "isn't fair;" deal with it. No one ever said that life's fair.
The Great Indoors: November 8 thorough November 14: The weather is cooler (in normal climates with the change of seasons) and days are shorter. Clocks have fallen back an hour. Summer clothes have been packed away and it's time for wool, tweed, cashmere, scarves, gloves and all those glorious boots.
How do you turn up the thermostat inside as it plummets outside? Keeping active in the cooler seasons? Winter sports enthusiasts? Hot mulled cider (spiked with spiced rum) connoisseurs? Do you like to roast chestnuts until they pop? Do you struggle with shorter daylight hours? How do you cope? Other ideas are always welcome. These are merely a starting point.
Please post your Goals, Stories and Advice in the corresponding LIVE, LOVE, EARN, PLAY and BELIEVE topics (*unfortunately, I'm unable to promote blog entries to the homepage, FYI).
One more thing: The importance of not being too earnest. There are a lot of well intentioned, well meaning coaches and experts on this site. But let's face it, it doesn't exactly make for fun, entertaining reading. I'll take a provocative, left of center post any day over the run of the mill "8 Easy Steps to Having a Great Life." B-O-R-I-N-G. Don't be afraid to take risks in your writing. I want people to be stimulated, challenged to think and get inspired by the same old information presented in brand new ways. In other words, please lighten up and try to have some fun.
I invite you to leave comments here on my blog or send me a private message. Let me know when you write a post. I want to promote it to the homepage. Posting on Peoplejam is definitely something you can do from the cozy environs of the Great Indoors!
Bundle up,
TJP
