A Golf Story...Dream Job

Have you seen the bumper sticker: "A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work." A salesman I know who had a sixteen handicap thought about that sticker and said: "If that's true, why do I work when I could be on the golf course?" He quit a six-digit computer sales job, invested his retirement savings to buy farmland, and opened a driving range. We all thought he was insane to risk everything on such a crazy idea. Today, he “works” at his driving range. Over time he’s added a putt-putt course, a practice sand trap, and an executive golf course. The amazing thing is, besides doing what he wants to do, his income is more than his best year selling computers.
Hopefully, you enjoy your job. I like mine most of the time. Point is: If you don’t, why do you continue doing something you don’t like? And not do what you really love? Why would do we make such choices, and be miserable going to work every day? Today’s success may be the dragon that holds you back from what you really want. This is your only life….not a dress rehearsal for something bigger that comes later.

Most people say:: "That’s a great story, Dick, but get real. I have to pay the mortgage, make car payments, and have food to eat." But maybe you’re not asking yourself the right question. Maybe the real question is: "Do I want my house and car so much that I'm willing work in a job I hate?" Each of us individually chooses what we’ll do today. And tomorrow's choice can be different than yesterday's.

Yeah - do what you love and the money will come! I firmly believe that we each control what we do and can choose not to be miserable! I have taken that leap myself: http://www.takingstuffapart.com/articles/917/1/How-to-say-goodbye-to-Cor...
