Five TIPS when feeling depressed, hopeless or even scared.
First of all…feeling depressed, hopeless or even downright scared is not a fun place to be. I have felt this way many times and know how much it impacted everything I did in life. It was like I was numb, in a daze feeling as though I was going nowhere while the rest of the world was passing me by.
Five things to think about...
1) The simple fact that you are here at PeopleJam reading this editorial is GREAT! It means you are CHOOSING to move forward and improve your life.
2) Don't be afraid to feel hopeless. You are only human. However, you must recognize when you are feeling this way so you can pick yourself back up. The good news is you don't have to journey through life alone. Have faith that there is a power greater than you guiding you along the way.
3) Avoid measuring yourself against how great/happy others seem to appear on the outside. Most people are struggling with something in life but will stop at nothing to keep others from knowing.
4) Distract your thoughts by shifting your focus on helping others. Doing so will heal your soul tremendously.
Living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder for over 25 years has presented me with many challenges. So has both parents Cancer and my wife's Multiple Sclerosis. Depression somewhat comes with the territory. Over the years I have grasped for answers on how to overcome issues like these and know first hand these tips work.
