Start making a list of things you believe about money. Make it a long fat list. Just put down all those money beliefs, and don’t forget to include the ones from your parents. Now start teasing apart the list. What do those beliefs set you up for? Are they scarcity or abundance based? Do they limit you? Do they limit your relationship with money? There, just by playing with those beliefs, you’ve started to shift them. Now what beliefs do you want instead?

Our beliefs about money affect our lives every day. They color our relationships; they shape our homes and careers. We relate to money based on the attitudes and beliefs we have about it. Often these beliefs don’t really serve us. Yet, we often unconsciously cling to these beliefs, which we acquired as young children.

In what ways do you think parents instill these negative beliefs?

You got me thinking about my experience and I jumped on the belief discovery bandwagon! :) Thanks!
