Bhava Ram (co-founder of Deep Yoga™, a yogic system based upon Vedic scriptures) says that, "the inherent power of rituals in the fact that repeated activities create patterns in our lives."
Patterns become deeply ingrained habits or "normal" ways of thinking. Drop thoughts, ideas, and old ways of being that no longer serve you and your goals. Re-examine your notions and everyday routines. What do you want to cut out? What can you use more of? Start small and make it a daily habit until it becomes a part of the new you.
Establish positive rituals in your life and you can expect to tap into your true inner power.
The power of ritual is as old as time itself. Caveman and cavewoman certainly had their hallowed habits. The state of nature, the state before civilization was a dangerous place. Ceremonies were created to appease Gods and Goddesses. Rites and days of observance ensured rain so that the planting and harvesting of crops went smoothly each year; so that the changing seasons brought positive winds and not an apocalypse. Unwavering belief gave power to these rituals.
Try cutting out negative speech for an entire day. Choose to believe in authentic communication and see what happens. Creating new and healthy habits (that you believe in) ensures a daily dose of inner peace.
