Placing yourself on a pedestal in the financial capital of the world has big advantages! Especially when you're the biggest junkyard dog in the yard with a superiority complex and the nasty bite to backup your bark.
In this case, the yard happens to be Wall Street.
When you're the big dog, everyone knows your name, and likewise, everyone knows to give you a wide berth when you come rolling in with a chip on your shoulder.
However, playing "Holier than Thou" as your theme song could land you in some pretty hot water unless you have a professional record devoid of dirt, scandals, and anything Clinton-esque.
Enter New York Governor Elliot Spitzer, which the media had facetiously dubbed "The Sheriff of Wall Street."
Granted that I've only been an active investor since 1998, but I've rarely seen the likes of such a character in the land of well dressed gunslingers. Spitzer was well renowned for his aggressive and controversial tactics to impose his will.
Several well known, and well liked, CEOs have come under his wrath. Former CEO of AIG, Hank Greenburg, being among the most notable in which Spitzer sued for fraud in 2005.
Therefore, in such a well renowned "boys club" as Wall Street, one has to be an idiot not to realize that long memories and grudges come with the territory. When considering the wallet sizes and pocket depths of the members in question, you tend to write your own ticket for self destruction if you make too many enemies. Especially, when you claim to be squeaky clean.
Unfortunately, in Spitzer's case, his first major screw up will undoubtedly be his last. That is, if the facts given to date are credible, which by his own recognition were "improper" when he addressed the media yesterday in a brief statement regarding an improper relationship to a prostitution ring.
For those unaware of the transpired events, Spitzer has been "in cahoots" with the ladies of the night. And not just any ladies! Ladies that charge $1,000 per hour from the infamous Emperors Club of New York.
Lets hope he got his money's worth because his enemies on Wall Street are calling for his head on a platinum platter. Silver just wasn't good enough to serve up their most hated of adversaries.
In fact, those working on the NYSE trading floor were saying the best buy on Wall Street was any liquor store within a 10 block radius selling champagne. Now this, is what we call a severe dislike of your enemy the likes Ghangis Khan would be proud of!
Certainly, we all should feel traditional negatives associated with a potential marriage ending pitfall such as this. Spitzer has a wife and three daughters, so the fallout is far beyond the professional arena, and which I refuse to make any implications because it goes beyond the nature of good character.
However, in regards to Governor Spitzer's professional career, all indications would suggest the governor, and even forecasted Presidential candidate, has effectively been terminated. No confirmations from the Governor's office have been disseminated, but one would expect those to be forthcoming in the within the week.
On a more personal note, I have not enjoyed Spitzer's antics in the past. Trust me when I say that I'm just one of many in this camp, so when someone of this hypocritical personality type comes along, a line of epic proportions forms to take jabs at them.
In this case, I'll let the opening photo say the words that all of us would ask the young lady whose services were worth $1,000 per hour.
Got a comment? Lets hear it!

Spitzer or swallow? For $80,000 G's I sure hope it was the latter! (I've been dying to make that joke since yesterday afternoon. I feel much better now.)
I can't wait until the paparazzi photos come out of the mysterious escort "Kristen" are paraded around the back rooms of Wall St. Considering the long term affects, it could be a big positive for her career. I can see the sales pitch now... SHAG THE CHICA THAT BROUGHT DOWN SPITZER. Of course, the cost will be 10 fold higher than before.
I recommend watching this
