Dear PeopleJam Community:

Thank you for the posts you contributed last week. Slowly, but surely I'm seeing new members, which is wonderful. Professional expertise is all well and good (and heaven knows we're awash in it right now), but PeopleJam is for you. I can't wait to "hear" your voices loud and clear above the rest.

Tricks & Treats. The theme for the coming week is a no-brainer: Halloween. The calendar does provide certain built-in guarantees, doesn't it? I'd like to read posts about:

- Halloween stories
- Favorite costumes
- Best advice to avoid having children ringing your bell (I once left a sign on my door that read,"Poor college students: No cash, no candy." Trick-or-treaters actually left $1.75 in change on my steps that night and back in the mid-90s, that was just enough for a Rolling Rock. Actually, we could've afforded the candy. I just didn't want to be disturbed whilst getting ready for a Halloween party.)
- Jack 'o' lanterns
- Ghoulish dates
- Zombie exes
- and whatever else you can pull out of your goodie bags.

Please post your Goals, Stories, and Advice in the appropriate corresponding topics and blog through your own profile. You're welcome to leave comments and suggestions here and/or send me a private message.

Much obliged,
TJP

Welcome all hallows eve, when the veil between the worlds thins and Goddess Hekate of crossroads and witchcraft rules...

This is a great opportunity to examine what is ready to fall away in your life and what is wanting to be born in its place.

A place to look:

If you could make just one change in your life, what would it be?

What is in the way of what you want?

Are you ready to give up what is in the way?

Now’s the time, Baby.

Physicalize your intention.

This exercise is going to engage your senses, get you out of your head and into your body, your intuition, and your whole self. If you want to make something happen, the more of yourself you use, the faster you’ll see the results. And most of all, it’s fun! Fun is the best way to get things done.

The Ritual

Invite your favorite dead people--family members, friends, heroes, pets. Prepare their favorite foods so they feel welcome. Request their wisdom and help as you cast your spell.

Choose the lesson you wish to release.
(For instance, you may have learned the lesson of chronic illness or low self esteem or bad relationships or poverty or lack of auditions—you’re ready to move on!)

Write it down, this lesson that you are ready to release. Burn the paper as an offering to Hekate, the dark goddess on Halloween night.

Next, request a lesson you want in its place, so as not to leave a vacuum. (You may want to request the lesson of full vitality, self love, prosperity, or full employment in its place, so that you can take the lessons you’ve already learned and go out and fully realize your potential in the world.)

Then, and this is the most important part of the ritual, drink some good champagne or eat some fantastic chocolate cake or juicy fruit or something truly delicious and affirm in your heart that you are accepting the new lesson with every sip and bite. Accept it into your body, your very cells, and have a party!

“Then peace will guide the planets, and love will steer the stars!”

Love,
