Dear PeopleJam Community:
As we prepare for official launch, we continuously refine and add features to provide you with the best experience possible. Beginning today, I'm pleased to invite everyone to particpate in PeopleJam's monthly and weekly themes.
Every Monday morning (today's an exception), I'll post the week's thematic requests in my blog, which will be linked to the homepage. You're always welcome to write about whatever strikes your fancy, but I'll be specifically seeking material to promote to the homepage everyday congruent with the weekly theme.
You may have noticed there are a lot of coaches on our site; many, many, many coaches. They're here as a resource and are eager to help. If it isn't readily obvious from the name, PeopleJam is for people. It's not about coaches and experts; it's about you. I'm especially interested to see posts from new users who have other perspectives and experiences to share. You're the expert of your own life; tell us what you know. You're an equally valuable community resource, so please don't hesitate to contribute.
October 16th through the 21st: Change of Seasons. Alright, so October's nearly half over, but better late than never. What images, memories or sensations does October conjure for you? Life is cyclical. What do you experience this time of year?I'd love to see material in the forums about:
- LOVE: Fall romance; finding someone in advance to drag to holiday parties; autumnal family activities; love in the autumn of life (keeping the flame alive.
- LIVE: Fall outdoor activities/exercise; seasonal vegetables and fruits; skincare for climate changes; fashion transition from season to season; what season are you?
- EARN: Seasonal money making/investing material; saving acorns for the winter (metaphor); is your career in spring, summer or free fall? Recession = winter for small business, are you ready?
- PLAY: Fall sports; fall vacation destinations; autumn wine selection; jump in a pile of leaves and be a kid again.
- BELIEVE: Inward reflections; wonders of nature in autumn; transformation; the end of the cycle: demise before renewal; the "death" of the ego in preparation for rebirth in the second half of life; seasonal spiritual/religious activities.
If anyone has questions or comments please post them below and/or send me a private message. I look forward to reading your posts.
Kind Regards,
Dr. Tara J. Palmatier

As if it's not bad enough that summer's over the days are shorter, darker and colder, we singles must face the prospect of being alone around the holidays - ouch!
Summer is my season. Beach days and balmy nights, I like being single in the summer. Cotton dresses and bare legs, and sandals, are my uniform, I feel good about life - I am a happy single camper from May through September - but oh boy, come October 'reality' hits hard; the weather moves us inside; pumpkins lead into turkeys and evergreen, the holidays, alone, no sexy, funny bf to snuggle with? No holiday love? I smell depression rearing it's ugly head. So, here we go...good manhunting.
Hey, it's easy to find physocal contact...but a good guy to do all those fun/corny holiday things with? It either feels desperate, forced or loaded with meaning when you hook up around the holidays. Anybody have any ideas on how to make this pursuit of happiness happen smoothly? I'd love to hear it!
