Eat Lunch Before 2pm!

Enough is enough... I've never been big on breakfast, so lunch is usually my first meal of the day. It's almost 1pm as I write this, and knowing me, I'll get distracted for another hour and it will be 2pm and I will have still not taken the short elevator ride downstairs and walked a half-block to the deli to grab something to eat. That's way too long to wait before sating my appetite and it happens way too often!

I do the same thing. My mother would kill me if she found out. I'd like to think it's a NY thing. The fast pace in that city really doesn't promote eating while you walk. But so many people all over the world have this bad habit. I've resorted to oatmeal in the morning. It's fast and easy to make. Plus I hear fiber is a good thing.

Hey Bisc,
Welcome and thanks for posting. I'm curious about your why. What's important to you about eating before 2? What will be better in your world when you do this? And how are you going to make it a priority over all those tempting distractions?

How am I going to make it a priority? No idea! Isn't that where everyone reading this comes in? ;)

Thy why is an easier question to answer (as I sit here at 2:53 eating a sandwich): discipline. My biggest eating vice is having no will power, and I figured that a 'baby step' I could take in that direction is by training myself to have some better habits. For someone who rarely eats breakfast, a late lunch followed by a late dinner -- and maybe a late-night snack -- just doesn't sound like the best way to eat better. Eating breakfast is difficult for me, but eating lunch at Noon shouldn't be. My problem is I often get engulfed in my work, and "time flies" ...

So I'm looking for some advice that can help me discipline myself better with regards to WHEN I eat, so hopefully that can translate into phase 2: more discipline with WHAT I eat.
