Diets are bad - eating well is good!

Do not put anything in your body that does not have SOME positive value. this does not mean you ahve to be perfect in what you eat. Just try to add something good to everything you eat. If you are going to have some pancakes, put some Whey protein into it. You will find that it is much easier to live a healthy eating lifestyle then it is to stay on a diet. And remember, a yo-yo diet is worse then being a little heavy.

It is always hard when you look at what you eat as being limited. People find it hard to stay on any program that limits what they can do. However, if you look at food as fuel and the only thing you put in your mouth (as a general rule) has to be a positive addition to your engine - then eating healthy is pretty easy.

JNS, thank you for the valuable tip; "Do not put anything in your body that does not have SOME positive value." That is an awesome way to look at eating. From now on I think I will try asking myself, "What positive value will this have for my body?" Thanks again!!

i've lately gotten to that point, a point which seems to arrive for no known reason, where i find all food disgusting. i mean that the animal labor of eating, chewing, digesting; the sheer horsepower necessary to process my own metabolism--it all seems an unnecessary pain. morbidity anyone? i get these kind of attacks about once a year or so, and as i say, they seem to have no known obvious source. the only relief is to drink nothing but fruit juice for a couple of days. that both reboots the metabolism by giving it forty eight hours off, and reacquaints you with the fact of hunger--an animal fact which overrides the strange bouts of food queasiness. i should add that as far as i know, i have no especial dietary issues. anyone else out there a fellow-sufferer?
