Well,
I knew that we were all connected, and I knew that we were all love, but I guess I really didn't fucking know it until now.
I am blown away by all of you, all that have sent wishes about my father, about my loss, everything. Know that it has kept me afloat these last few days.
At some point I will be replying to those of you who I knew personally at some point in my life. And for the rest of you. Keep speaking your truth, standing up against the bullshit, and carrying forward the torch my father lit inside of you.
Best to you all,
Kelly Carlin-McCall
Kelly,
First, I want to say please be strong. I know this is an amazingly difficult time for you. I saw my mother lose both of her parents in the same year, and she was stronger than I know I'd never be. I hope that strength is with you, too.
Second, I just wanted to say...I'm a 25-year-old girl from Philadelphia who's been a huge fan of your father's since an early age. My dad has been a fan since he was a teenager and he introduced me to your father's talents when I was 6. It probably wasn't the most appropriate things for a 6-year-old to hear(haha), but my dad told me "This is what you really need to know in life." He was right.
I finally saw your father at the Tower Theater last year for the first time. It was a big moment for me, and I look back now and think of how lucky I was to see him perform live.
Many generations have grown up with your dad's talents, and I'll make sure that when I have children they grow up with his comedic spirit as well.
Best,
Gina

Getting a chance to meet you, your Mom and your Dad is something I'll always
treasure. He was a daily source of razor wit and wisdom for me as I was growing up.
Brenda, George and you were a trio of people who gave me every chance at a time when I didn't really deserve any, but please know that your generosity will never be forgotten, and the experience counts as an education that is still paying off today as I practice my craft here in TX.
Kelly, thanks for putting up with me at a time in my life when I was in a very dark and stinking place. The windows are open now and I live in warm sunshine with a loving wife and nurturing family, and all the things that I threw away have been given back to me ten times over.
