A woman who is staying at my house, another story of magic, brought home some daffodils late last night. We met in the kitchen and as we talked, I trimmed the stems and arranged them in a vase and put them on the kitchen table. We shared stories and anecdotes about daffodils, how they were my grandmothers favorite flower, how a young child she knew when first seeing a vast field of them cried out"Take me to the yellow."
