Changing Roles
For me, I 've made it a practice to look for what I call Signs From the Universe on a daily basis. We are getting streaming information all the time and don't always pay attention to it. It can be in the form of people telling you a story, or hearing a song, or picking up just the right book or sometimes it can just be a tap on the shoulder saying 'I'm here' from the Universe. At a time when I was feeling very confused and wishing for guidance, I started finding feathers on my path at the most extrordinary times and places. I began to see them as a message: you're not alone here. It profoundly changed how I felt. It still does.
When I can be reminded of 'the bigger picture' I can stay more focused on my bigger dreams and goals. When I feel 'supported' I can relax the voices in my head that can stir things up into chaos and stay centered, knowing that all is well in my life.

I'm sold on "signs" Marcia! I find that the more I acknowledge them and give thanks for these messages from above/from within, the more signs appear on my path. Most people believe, "when I see it, then I'll believe it." Rather, that view should be tweaked to, "when I believe it, then I'll see it." Anyone can lend credence to anything that they are able to touch, see, smell, etc. It's only those few but courageous souls that don't need the material world to validate their thoughts and feelings. Note: I'm not saying it's acceptable to become a psychotic sociopath, but it is simply glorious to have unwavering faith in something bigger than yourself. Now, who wouldn't want to adopt an idea/practice that made them feel better each day??

I love this! I generally ask each morning to be present with any signs that the Universe sends that will indicate my journey is flowing in harmony with Universal energy. And when I can see being stuck in traffic or hearing a particular song as a sign to help me along my journey it brings such joy into my heart.

Yes, I've been writing a daily email about signs for about six months now. And then the other day I was listening to Rhonda Byrne of The Secret fame and she was talking about how she asks the Universe for signals, gentle ones, when she's going off track...and gets them of course. I just love the idea of a friendly, responsive Universe. The first time I ever saw it supported in print was The Artist's way, which I loved.

Wow what a great story! And I used to think I was a little strange about things like that :-) But yes I could have written this story too, as I've seen these "signs" for many years. And I've always felt so sorry for those who don't see them as I think they're missing so much. I do have a great story about 'signs' that I may post here when I return from vacation.
