Do you long to write, paint, or needlepoint? And do you put it off until after all those worthwhile activities like filing taxes and paying the gas bill everything else are done? What if you scheduled time, whether it’s ten minutes a week or and hour a day, to do the creative work you really love? I dare you to try it this week and let us know how it turned out.
Forgo the one more stop, one more phone call, one more chore. Do something completely unproductive. (Because here’s a secret: It really is good extremely good for you to practice creativity.) Protect and carve our time for creative pursuits as best you can. Then try not to grieve the time that’s already lost. Just dive in and create. Now is all there is.
