Breaking the Mold

We've all heard it over and over, "stop waiting, start doing!" But how do we break the old patterns that hinder us? Pick a month, day, hour, a move; some benchmark that feels appropriate and write it out. For example, "September is my month to establish healthier friendships." Now, take an action -- one will do, several might be more meaningful for you. Commit to the action verbally - tell someone, remind yourself, but speak it. Lastly, change one regular habit; from the way you drive home to the beverage you start your day with, Change One Thing! You've formed your intent, expressed it to the Universe and are taking action. Success!

As my kids go back to school I marvel at how refreshed they are. We define them differently simply because they've changed a grade or a school. This helps them redefine themselves. They let go of old wounds and feel like they have a fresh start -- every fall. As adults, we don't get this reset button, so we have to create our own. We shouldn't have to physically move or change jobs or wait for a promotion to redefine ourselves, but so often those are the benchmarks we wait for. Mulling them over in our midn isn't enough. Take action, take control of your destiny. Make the changes you've dreamed of NOW and start living the life you imagine.

Love this, Teri. What a great reminder to sit in action rather inaction. I can see some awesome learning and growth opportunities on the horizon. Thank you so much for the inspiration!!

What mold will you be breaking?

Thanks for the positive feedback Pam! I'm working on breaking the mold created in my childhood that says, "there is no safe place in the world for me." Growing up in an explosive home and moving into a small town, there were no real safe havens for me. Only recently did I realize I even had this thought pattern. So, My new thought is, "I create safety all around me." September 13th (my favorite number) is the day I launched. I went to see one of my coaches to solidify the foundation and "I'm off" to a safe place that is. . . . .
Anyone else want to share the mold they are breaking?
