The Beatles another example of how winners stay on top

In my last blog I mentioned how winners keep changing using examples from sport and business. I recently saw a fabulous movie directed by Julie Tamor who did Lion King, called Across the Universe which featured the Beatles songs. It was wonderful especially for those who were around then and who remember it. ( a play on an old joke that if you remember the 60's you weren't there)
The movie reminded me that Sir George Martin was speaking at one of the conferences that I was also speaking at. Martin was the arranger and some say the key behind the Beatles success. One of the points that he made was that they, lilke all winners who keep winning, never rested on their laurels. Each album the Beatles recorded- and all were huge sellers- was completely different than the previous one. They used their success as a springboard not a slide. So 'Hey Jude' " I wanna hold you hand' and remind you that, as we enter the new year, 'all you really need is love'. and …
