"I'm living in the spin cycle!" is a mantra that I hear from my clients, who are busy, high-powered, over-committed and exhausted women. And, to be honest, the little voice in my head is not unfamiliar with the phrase.

Are there solutions? You bet! But sometimes what we need is acceptance instead of solutions. Maybe a shift in perspective is in order? If we are living in the spin cycle, what does that mean? Does it mean we have a full life? If so, maybe there is something to be said for "living in the spin cycle."

The spin cycle is just that, it's a cycle. One of the inherent truths about a cycle is that it is constantly changing. Maybe we can accept this part of the cycle with the knowledge that with those changes come new opportunities.

Take a moment and notice if you feel you are in the spin cycle. If you are, let go of resisting it. Make a list of all that you are grateful for right now. Make a list of the things that are making you crazy. Now, make a list of 3 actions you can take this week that will start to address the things that are making you crazy. Remember, the spin is ok sometimes - just make sure it is a cycle and not a pattern.

Spin cycle sounds too fun for me. I call it the "Stairmaster of life" - meaning, a lot of steps and energy, and yet I'm still on the same floor! Ha ha.
