So you sat on your duff all winter watching the NFL and realize warmer weather is around the corner. If you’re a guy - you contemplate standing at the BBQ all summer in your shorts and realize you probably can’t go shirtless since you’ve overindulged a bit too much. Ladies – you come to the ugly realization that you will probably have to move to a one-piece…and a t-shirt over that. If you’re feeling overwhelmed don’t worry, try some of these helpful tips to jump-start weight loss:
1. Get off the couch – you won’t lose anything but motivation if you stay on the sofa watching everyone else engaged in activity!
2. Do actual exercise – no, it does not count that you spend an hour here and there working up a sweat at the driving range for your entire exercise routine. Nor does playing a round of golf count if you are just riding the cart to each hole!
3. Lay off the finger foods and snacking throughout watching games – have something of a real meal instead of wings and potato chips while you take in the NBA season
4. Drink something other than beer! Why not try some water for a change?
5. Get started NOW – the fact that you are going to, should have, could have, or would have started talking care of yourself isn’t going to cut it. Setting goals is important by simply wanting to have a physique like Tiger Woods or Maria Sharapova is only the start; you actually have to do something for it. There’s no time like the present so get moving!
