Sure, we all hear about the athletes that cheat on their spouses and do other nasty things – but what about those that have solid relationships? There are actually many more of these than get reported – here are just a few passionate love stories in the sports world (or at least that appear happy!):

1. Nomar Garciaparra and Mia Hamm: Yeah, their twin girls are gonna be awesome athletes! A low-key couple, Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Garciaparra told the media that “It was a private moment between me and the person I love. I don't really want to share it” when he proposed in 2002. Besides being an Olympic athlete, Mia has a foundation dedicated to bone marrow transplant awareness and getting girls involved in sports.

2. Joe Montana and Jennifer Wallace: The third time’s a charm for the ex-San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame quarterback. Joe and Jennifer were married in 1985 and have four children. Falling in love while filming a commercial, the two are still married today.

3. Wayne Gretsky and Janet Jones: This power couple met in 1984 and were married in 1988 in an event televised throughout Canada. They now have four children, one of which is already following in dad’s famous hockey footsteps skates.

4. Brett and Deanna Favre: These passionate people are truly exemplary! We all know about Brett’s passion for his NFL career, but did you know that Deanna is a devoted breast cancer activist? After being diagnosed with the disease, she started selling pink Green Bay Packers hats to raise money for breast cancer research and eventually started her own foundation.

5. Bob Burnquist and Jen O’Brien: This pro skateboarding couple have a young daughter and are fervent activists for green living. The Bob Burnquist Foundation is dedicated to sustainable planet projects. Truly passionate people when it comes to the environment, the couple also founded the Action Sports Environmental Coalition.
