The 2008 Major League Baseball season is already shaping up to be quite memorable. Spring Training has given us these gems so far:

1. Dodgertown closes – In Vero Beach, Florida since 1948; the Los Angeles Dodgers are moving their training facility to Arizona. Tommy Lasorda was quite broken up about this, as much of the town likely was.

2. Yankees and Devil Rays rivalry – I guess some people will stir the pot at any opportunity. The D-Rays will likely be a good team this year, but in no way the caliber of the Yankees. I guess the Red Sox thing got old.

3. Yankees sign Billy Crystal – the actor lived out nearly every sports fan’s wildest dream and got an actual at-bat in a Major League Baseball game.

4. Games in China – The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres played two exhibition games in China.

5. Roger Clemens shows up to the Houston Astros minor league camp to pitch. He stops to sign autographs and ignore questions. I guess he was feeling overwhelmed…
