TCM (Turner Classic Movies) runs 31 Days of Oscar all March long. In the same spirit, I've decided to recount 29 of my worst dating disasters and "relationships." Originally, I planned to do 28, but a colleague just informed me it's leap year. Damn.

Dating Disaster No. 1
Doctor Psycho is a Croatian, Freudian Psychiatrist. He was 46- years old and I was 28 when we dated. During the fourth weekend I spent at his co-op on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, he put forth a very “interesting” proposition.
He proposed that before he sequestered me in his heretofore unknown, three-bedroom house on Long Island, he wanted to make sure I was fertile “the old-fashioned way.” Of course, I would be expected to quit graduate school in order to raise his children and keep his home.
Until that very moment, I never knew an unreserved coach ticket on Amtrak can be used on all other unreserved coach trains on any day and at any time from New York to Boston. You learn something new everyday. All aboard!

No fifth weekend?
To add insult to injury, he then voted for George W. Bush in the 2000 election. A Freudian's bad enough, but a Republican Freudian? Uh-uh.
was he at least cute?
He's one of those people who "looked good on paper." The reality wasn't very good at all. To be fair, I was still sorting through my own stuff then. All's well that ends well.
