1 mile run
100 pullups
200 pushups
300 squats
1 mile run
Time: 54:00
We did the Murph today! I had done this one once before, but last time I did it "Cindy" style, or as we called it, the Mindy. Which means I did the middle part as 20 rounds of 5 pullups, 10 pushups, 15 squats. This time I did it straight through as written. Pullups I used no assistance, pushups I did on my knees.
The second mile after all the squats is ugly. I kept thinking, okay, once I get out there it'll loosen up after a little bit and I can pick up speed from the low clearance shuffle I had going on, with absolutely no acceleration happening from my rear. So after I was going for a little bit, I kept thinking, "ooookay - now!" ....and nothing would happen. And a little bit later, I'd think, "oooookay - GO!" and I was still shuffling.
Apparently my body decided to mutiny and just picked it's own cruise control speed. I managed to finally pick up speed on the last 400m.
I felt like I probably could have gone faster in the squats, but since this was my first time doing it straight through I wasn't sure how it would feel. I was happy it didn't feel AS awful as it did the first time i did this workout. And I'm sure we'll revisit this one again in 6 months or so - and I'll be even faster!
