Money Problems? It’s a Shortage of Connection

“Shortage of time is not your problem. Shortage of money is not your problem. Shortage of Connection to the Energy that creates worlds is at the heart of all sensations of shortage that you are experiencing.” ~ Esther and Jerry Hicks from Money, and the Law of Attraction

Wow. Well, that puts it in perspective, eh? Are you feeling a shortage in your life right now? Know, as Abraham-Hicks so beautifully says, it’s your Shortage of Connection to the Energy that creates worlds(!!!) that’s at the root of your problem.

Think about that. “The Energy that creates worlds.” It’s the same force that beats your heart and grows your hair and digests your food (AND gives you flashes of inspiration of your ideal life!) that also continues to create stars and galaxies and who knows what else at the edges of our universe.

Now, I personally don’t like to argue or fight with that force. It wins *every* time. :)

So, the real issue at the heart of any fear/suffering/lack you may be experiencing has NOTHING to do with a bad economy or a bad childhood or a bad hair day. It ALL has to do with you. And, specifically, with your connection to your Highest Self/Source/God/Whatever-You-Want-To-Call-It.

You connected?

What can you do to strengthen your connection today?

hey missfunkadilly (nice name :) - cool, but for the record, I didn't say anything about peeps being too caught up in consumerism. I think enjoying things is a great, important part of life. my idea was that peeps need to see that any "problem" in their lives is really just a disconnection to source! :)

Great short blog and you're right, people are too caught up money and material things these days. Consumerism is at an all time high. People need to realize the things that really matter in life.

@heath - amen. :)

@ramesh - exactly!

It is a very interesting blog post. I really believe that everything happens for a reason and will hold on to this piece of advise.Money problems are also caused by our own attitude towards something that could possibly give us an income.Thanks a lot!

I so agree with this. We are all a part of the original energy that started all that we are and know in this universe. It never dies and it never goes away, even in physical death. How can you be happy if you are not connected with this energy?

jim and amanda - love it!! yes yes yes! :)

Sometimes when all seems to be going wrong, some good can come around. I really believe that everything happens for a reason and will hold on to this piece of advise.

I agree! Money problem can be solved. If you work harder then money will always follow. Money problems are also caused by our own attitude towards something that could possibly give us an income. This post is really of great help to a lot of readers like me. Thanks a lot!

@starvin - yes!
@sarah - hehe. i hear ya and agree re: some limitations of the law of attraction (i.e., mental retardation, born into poverty). I look at it more as "Empower the Creator" than "blame the victim"... and yes yes yes on our attitude!

Here's to connecting to our highest self and rockin it. :)

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the law of attraction. There's a big "blame the victim" vibe there. Got cancer? Your own problem. Poor and mentally retarded? It's your own deal. If you'd just connect with your higher power, you'd be rich! On the other hand, I DO really agree that much of our success or failure in life depends on our attitude toward the roadblocks in life.

This is a great short article about life's success and the need for belief in a higher power. I totally agree that people need a focus and a connection with something beyond themselves in order to succeed in life.

@krm - hehe. well said. Or what about that power that's digesting your food, beating your heart, growing your fingernails and doing a TRILLION things a second in each of our bodies alone. Amazing...

@johnm - the cool thing is that when we connect to the source of everything we get to enjoy the money/material things AND the other stuff. Abraham-Hicks would say (and I'd agree) that money/material things DO matter. But that ANY struggles with them is really just an indicator that we've lost our connection...

@ysomogyi - big smile!

@foodiecall313 - cool. was the problem in the first sentence of first paragraph?

@pdkamath - beautifully said. glad you enjoyed, thx for your support and kind words!

@syamg - thx for sharing. (always appreciate your candor!!! :)

getting fired may or may not be your "fault" but whether you interpret that as a good thing or a bad thing is going to be tied to how connected you are to source. You COULD say to yourself, "Wow! finally. I no longer have to go to a job that isn't really for me. What a blessing to be fired! Now, what job would I LOVE to have!" And then the extra time you get as the right job doesn't appear immediately is just an opportunity to go deeper into your connection to source/your highest self. OR you can see the worst in the situation (and, of course, there's usually a lot to pick from! :) and complain/etc. One will take you in the direction you wanna go and the other the opposite! :)

It's *definitely* a challenging perspective to hold some times but ESSENTIAL for our happiness/well-being/wealth.

with love,

-bri

Wow. The fact that we are flying through space at a million miles an hour on a rock should convince most of us that there is a higher God. Or you could put your head in the sand like most people and pretend that this is all there is.

johnm's picture

an interesting perspective. we're all so caught up on money and material things nowadays, we are neglecting the things that really matter.

ysomogyi's picture

I find this interesting as much for the comments of the others as for the blog itself. At least it's got us all thinking positive!

foodiecall313's picture

I think this blog has an interesting point, in that one should look at the big picture first and the smaller details later. But I agree with the first commenter (syamg) that he uses a sweeping generalization attitude as well. What I got out of this blog is comprised in my first sentence.

pdkamath's picture

It is a very interesting blog post , I liked it very much for the simple reason that it is assuring the reader that he is part of a supreme force which is protecting this world and he is there for you .This is a simple philosophy which consoles us in critical conditions and create a sense of protection within us. I recommend this blog for people who are worried about petty happenings in their life.

syamg's picture

Well, I don't know about that - I'd like to think getting fired and not being able to find a new job isn't my fault, but I'll take the advice to heart.
