"There's nothing capricious in nature, and the implanting of a desire indicates that its gratification is in the constitution of the creature that feels it." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson from The Selected Writings of Ralph Waldo Emerson
Wow. That's a strong statement.
First, nature is not capricious--she doesn't play around. You wouldn't *have* the desire if you couldn't *manifest* the desire. POWERFUL stuff.
Kinda reminds of Napoleon Hill's classic: "What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve."
More from Emerson: "Our desires presage the capacities within us; they are harbingers of what we shall be able to accomplish. What we can do and want to do is projected in our imagination, quite outside ourselves, and into the future. We are attracted to what is already ours in secret. Thus passionate anticipation transforms what is indeed possible into dreamt-for reality."
And, "Do that which is assigned to you, and you cannot hope too much or dare too much."
Well... what are you waiting for?
You've been inspired. It's time to reap your destiny!!!!! (!!!!!!) :)

Definitely been inspired... It's something I was taught growing up... if you believe, you can achieve... I was once told that i dream to big.. I think people dream to small... yes have realistic dreams and goals but also dream beyond that... that is where happiness lies
hey guys:

to the dreams that inspire us and to creating the greatest year of our lives,

Another amazing blog! I think this is why your website has niggled it's way into my favorites! Such awesome advice that's open ended for a true interpretation!
hey knits: THANKS! I always have a huge smile reading your comments. :) thx for your support and thrilled you're diggin' it. :)
Oh man, I feel like I just listened to an inspirational speech. I really want to believe that your blog is 100% true. Of course, my doubtful side is starting nudge me in saying that this is not possible, but I do feel that in many cases, people do not achieve their dreams because they do not believe it possible. Great inspirational blog!
Capricious what? That word escaped me but I will google it later. The rest of this is true to the core. This is your second blog I am reading now and I am tempted to read more.
hey e: henry ford said, "whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right." and ricahrd bach says, "argue for your limitations and sure enough , they're yours." :)
ashaan: hehe. i had to look it up, too. it means that nature isn't unpredictable, she doesn't play games.
fun!

Short & Sweet. Thanks PhilosophersNotes (bri) for publishing this. Emerson is a great person to quote!
I just love your blogs. They are really inspirational and this one is no exception. Its so hard to untrain your mind from all the brainwashing of your youth in this society; however, I feel it is not only important but necessary to get what you truly want out of life.
If I wanted to read Emerson, I'd read Emerson. You kind of just quoted him and then told me I'm inspired (which I wasn't). Maybe add a little bit more of your own words, with a bit more detail than "Reach for the stars!"
I really don't like the first quote much. I just can't connect with it However I love : "What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve." I believe that 100%!!!
As a practicing wiccan this is a fundimental part of all my rituals. What is in the mind can be sent forth into the air around you to help the desired effect come to fruitation.
