When you are on a diet you really need to be extra conscious of what you are putting in your body. You need to be careful about drinking empty calories like you would find in a can of Cola, for example. In fact, unless you are on a juice diet you are probably going to be better off to just stick to water.
But water is boring, and sometimes you need to liven things up a little bit. I love Spicy Hot V8 but the problem is the sodium content is very high, almost half of your daily allowance in a single 12oz serving! Campbell's makes a Low Sodium V8 for those people wishing to have better control over the amount of salt they ingest, but let's be honest - it's a little bland.
If you are interested in the lower sodium variety of V8 but you need to have more pep in your drink you can try one of these 4 Ways to Spice- Up Low Sodium V8:
So there you go, my 4 Ways to Spice-Up Low Sodium V8. If you have your own recipe for improving on the taste of this healthy drink please comment and let me know what works for you. I am looking forward to hearing about all of the unique ways of adding taste that I would never have imaged.

Hey! thanks a lot! everyone's been telling me to keep the sodium low, but no one told me how. I'm going to try all of this, and i'll let you know if it works. :)
I always wanted to drink V8 for their nutritional values but I never really liked the taste too much. But I think adding some tabasco and/or worcestershire sauce might do the trick. It's something I never thought of so I'll definitely try it. Thanks for your post!
Thanks for the great tips! I always thought it would be good to drink V8, but I couldn't get past the taste to bother. I think I'll try these tips and see if it's any better! Thanks so much!
My husband loves the spicy hot V8 too! But it is not always easy to find and is expensive - so I started buying regular veggie juice - any brand, or sometimes even tomato juice and he adds tabasco to taste. And now he gets creative and adds a garlic hot sauce he loves. We will have to try these ideas too - and keeping the sodium lower is a definite plus!
This stuff is so good for you and tastes so very bad. I love the V8 line, but hate the sodium and the first time I bought the low sodium, I was disgusted. These are some good tips and I may have to give them a try. I am just glad to see others feel the same way I do about this version of the beverage.
Those are terrific suggestions! The sodium content of regular V8 is astounding but like you mentioned the low sodium type just isn't as delicious. Your tips are excellent. Thank you!
This may seem a little Spartan, but if you drink the low-sodium stuff enough, you'll get used to the taste. Then the regular V8 will seem undrinkably salty.
These sound like great ideas for a little more kick! Reading this has me wondering if this would make a good soup base. I'll have to try it and see.
