Is there a musical artist you love because they make use of all the best elements from many different genres to bring them together to make something new and exciting? If so, you understand the concept behind my Pilates methodology - Fusion Pilates™.
My name is Jennifer Gianni. I hold three Advanced Pilates certifications, I train Pilates teachers and I'm the creator and star of my series of Fusion Pilates DVD’s. I hope you’ll check out my other blog at http://www.healthnews.com/blogs/jennifer-gianni
I have a vast background in Pilates, yoga, dance, weight training and aerobics. Over the years, I’ve filtered all of the best and most effective aspects of each of these disciplines to combine them into what has become Fusion Pilates™. In all of m programs you will find hints of all of these disciplines being combined and applied according to individual mind/body goals.
If you want a long lean body, Pilates is the way to get it. Pilates shapes and sculpts the body with amazing results IF it's done correctly. My programs will give you the foundational tools to get the most out of your Pilates workout.
My passion is fitness for Pre & Post pregnancy and I’d like to talk a bit about that for this post
When I became pregnant with my first child, I realized how little information was available on how to stay in shape while taking every precaution to insure the safety of my baby and a healthy pregnancy.
I developed a program combining elements from Pilates, yoga, dance, aerobics and other movement disciplines that were effective in keeping my body strong and healthy through the pregnancy and helped me to snap back quickly to my pre-pregnant body after birth. I addressed safety by following strict guidelines from The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and by seeking advice and consultation from my own doctor, William A. Growdon, (M.D. Chairman, OB/GYN, Santa Monica/UCLA Hospital Clinical Associate Professor, UCLA President, Los Angeles OB/GYN Society) who recommends my Pre & Post natal programs to all of his patients.
I credit this Fusion Pilates™ Method for a quick "bounce back" after the births of both of my daughters. Fusion Pilates is the result of my in-depth research into what constitutes a safe and effective workout for the pregnant woman. When my clients saw the results I achieved myself, the word quickly spread and my Venice, California studio became a Mecca for pre and postnatal women. When one of these clients was upset at having to move away and discontinue her workout, I had the idea to create a Fusion Pilates for Pregnancy workout tape. The video was produced in the seventh month of my second pregnancy. My studio in Venice, California and now my new studio in Asheville, NC are used as a laboratory for the formulation of the workout plans that appear in my videos. These workouts were perfected on my own body and on the bodies of my clients. They offer proven results from years of research and application.
The Fusion Pilates™ for Pre & Post Natal is a unique system that combines the principles of Pilates and yoga to serve the expectant mother's body and mind.
My classes and dvd’s will help to relieve lower back strain, fatigue and constipation. They also help to prevent varicose veins, incontinence and leg swelling. The system maintains your strength and flexibility, builds stamina for the birthing process, increases blood circulation and oxygen to your baby and is gentle enough to continue right up to your due date.
Post-Partum women will recover abdominal strength and toning while relieving upper body tension from carrying the baby to quickly regain strength and energy.
I hope to share what I've found works and doesn't work in Pre & Post Natal fitness in future posts.

Beautiful idea! More women need to trust the fitness available to their bodies before, during, and after pregnancy. Your post and you concepts sound very rewarding. What an exciting program for women! Nicely done! I look forward to more postings and fitness directions for women!
What a great idea! I like pilates, and my interested in piqued on this one. My husband and I just started trying to have a baby, and I just started looking into these topics. I'm definitely considering having my baby naturally, and I really want to keep my body healthy throughout this whole process. Great article!
I've tried Pilates and it's great! I may be past child-bearing age, but there is still a lot of useful info for me here.
This is an awesome idea! I've always loved pilates, but after I had my son I couldn't handle the stress regular pilates put on my body. I'll have to try this out!
I agree with everyone else, when they say that this is an amazing idea. People who just have kids want to get out and do something, after they have the baby. They don't, usually because of the a lack of confidence. I think this would help them get that confidence back, as well as getting their shape back. Definately a great blog, good work.
